Metropolia University of Applied Sciences

Metropolia University of Applied Sciences is Finland’s largest, multidisciplinary university of applied sciences and a community of 16,200 students and more than 1,000 experts. The innovation hubs on our campuses in Helsinki, Vantaa and Espoo offer a favourable operating and innovation environment to solve challenges across industries, sectors and technologies.

Metropolia’s Smart Mobility Innovation Hub has led since 2015 various projects related to smart mobility and implemented a number of automated shuttle pilots in Finland, mainly on open roads and in mixed traffic. After the national SOHJOA project, the collected practical knowledge on how to implement and operate a robotbus pilot has been shared to European partners in Sohjoa Baltic and FABULOS projects.

Metropolia UAS acted as the lead partner in Sohjoa Baltic project, and continues as leader of Sohjoa Last Mile.
